Traditional Evening & Smoke Sauna at Jätkänkämppä

At Jätkänkämppä, Finnish sauna culture, traditional food and warm-hearted togetherness come together. The traditional evenings, held every Tuesday year-round (and also on Thursdays in summer), offer the full experience: the gentle heat of a giant smoke sauna, a hearty buffet dinner, live folk music, and the authentic atmosphere of a 1950s lumberjack lodge.

Gentle heat of the smoke sauna
Bathe in the legendary “world’s largest smoke sauna” (recorded 108 bathers in 2003!) and refresh yourself with a dip in Lake Kallavesi – or winter swimming in the ice hole.

Traditional buffet dinner
Enjoy a plentiful dinner where local ingredients and Finnish food traditions take centre stage.

Live music & dancing
Accordion and violin tunes create the mood, with sing-alongs and dancing to crown the evening.

Summer log-floating shows
In summer, experience unique lumberjack log-floating shows by the lakeshore.
