Lumberjack traditions in a scenic lake setting

Jätkänkämppä, an authentic lumberjack lodge from the 1950s, is the pride of Rauhalahti. Built of hand-hewn logs, the lodge used to function as a lumberjacks’ base in the district of Nurmes in eastern Finland. The original arrangement of the rooms is still discernible. Lumberjack heritage is cherished at Jätkänkämppä by preserving photos and tools that depict those bygone times.
